Ross Bindery "loves the machines," buys twelfth Osako
Right: Ross Bindery's Horst Doerzapf, President

To Bob Morton, President, Best Graphics, Inc. -

It was good to see you in our plant again a couple of weeks ago. It's always nice when an organization cares enough to make personal visits to follow up on a sale and installation, even when there's no immediate urgency.

Regarding your question - "am I pleased with the performance of my new Osako 368 saddle stitcher?" Bob, let me remind you that this is my 12th Osako and the second 368 I've installed in the last several months! Does that tell you anything?

We love the machine. We run our Osakos pretty much flat out over two 12-hour shifts, 6 days a week. We hardly ever see downtime on these machines, even the first one I bought in 1978! Our business is going great guns and believe it or not, I'm probably going to put in another Osako 368 in the next few months, so keep your bags packed.

The machine is rated for 12,000 books per hour and we typically get 10,000 to 11,000 in the real world, which I think is excellent. What really helps is the fast setup and changeovers. And the faster you set 'em up, the better it is for your bottom line, I always say. Great speed, great quality. My operators love 'em. What more can I say?

Oh, and regarding your question on after-sale service and support. You seem like a very conscientous and professional group and we're very happy with you as the new Osako reps, the installation, training and all that. However, in all honesty, I don't know how you're going to be on repairs or technical support, because these machines just don't seem to want to break down! I'll let you know when I need my first major repair, hopefully a long while from now. Meanwhile, have a good day and continued success.

Sincerely,

Horst Doerzapf, President
